Fresh off his Oscar win, the impeccably-dressed Redmayne is playing Newt Scamander, a trainee ‘magizoologist’ who jaunts off to New York to research and write a wizarding textbook, roughly 70 years before Potter and his pals are born. There, he embarks on all sorts of adventures, encountering the likes of Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, Katherine Waterston, Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Carmen Ejogo and Alison Sudol.
