They are here! I definitely feel like I have not seen enough of the films to comment... especially as most of them have not actually been released in the UK yet...
Today’s Golden Globes announcement, from the mysterious 93-member Hollywood Foreign Press Association, seems to have steered the Oscar ship back onto a more conventional course – but that’s not to say there wasn’t the odd surprise or two. Bryan Cranston found himself nominated for Trumbo (a drama, not a comedy, people), Rooney Mara continued her Best Actress campaign for Carol and Alicia Vikander was recognised for her work in both The Danish Girl and Ex Machina - a great week for Alex Garland's film after reigning triumphant at Sunday night's BIFAs. Lily Tomlin, in her 76th year, also picked up two nominations, for Grandma and Grace & Frankie.
